MexAmerica Foods was founded by Pennsylvania natives Gerry and Sue Riddle who came to know the taste of truly fine Mexican food while living in the American Southwest. In 1987, after moving back home to Pennsylvania to raise their family, they decided to bring that appreciation of southwest food to the east coast. The Riddles arrived at their own special formulation that enabled them to duplicate and mass-produce fresh tortillas much like those they found in the Southwest. |

In 2010, MexAmerica Foods changed hands to a new family, Ray and Lisa Gunn from Southeast Michigan. Ray was involved in acquiring the business from the Riddles in 2008 while acting as managing partner of a private investment group and in October 2010, Ray acquired the remaining interest he did not already own. Ray aligned MexAmerica with world class tortilla chip maker Festida Foods which now makes MexAmericas tortilla chips as well as those for On The Border and 50 other accounts. |
